After weeks of training, the day had finally arrived for my first ParkRun.

My only problem was that last night I decided to have a few drams…not the best idea!  Nor was staying up to 1.30am…managed to ruin all the hard work in a few hours!!!

When Phil arrived at the back of 8.00am, I was suffering 😞

We had a coffee and a slice of Carol’s tea-loaf then headed down to Stonehaven.

The weather was perfect, the volunteers were ace, the crowd all seemed chill…great atmosphere.

Then the run started…I felt terrible and it only seemed to get worse the further round I ran.

It was a nice change to run on grass, but we were told to watch out for the hill…HILL…more like a mountain 😜 especially as it is strategically placed behind some trees, so you don’t actually appreciate the slope until it is too late!

Eventually got round, didn’t break the 30 minutes I was aiming for, but that wasn’t a surprise.

Next week will definitely be better…I hope?

When we got home, Carol had some sausage baps, OJ & tea waiting…life saver 😘

  1. Great effort Paul, considering … ; ) we’ll definitely break the 30 minute barrier next time. Thanks again to you both for breakfast, much needed and much appreciated.
